How do you know you have a leak?

PLD Pros always recommends you to do a bucket test to before contacting one of our representative. But what is a bucket test and how do you do it? A bucket test is a test anyone can conduct at home to determine if your losing water due to evaporation or from leak in your pool.
Getting started with the Bucket test
Step 1 Place bucket in the pool step and add water in the bucket and – make sure it is leveled with the pool water.
Step 2 Let the bucket sit in the pool for 1-2 days.
Step 3 After 1-2 days bucket check, if the water level in bucket is the same as pool water level you’re losing water to evaporation. If the water level in the bucket is under the level of the water, you have a leak.
How do we locate leak?
Our leak detection is a two step process, dye test and pressure test.
Pressure Test
The pool plumbing system put under pressure to identify if plumbing is good If the pool plumbing holds the pressure there is no leak If the plumbing fails to hold pressure then the pool has a leak
Dye Test
Apply dye on the pool surface. If the pool has a leak, the dye is pulled into the leak. Usually only works on crack/holes.
